Monica is a founder of playworkgroup. Since graduating from Rhode Island School of Design, Monica has had over 15 years of experience as a creative director in-house and at reputable agencies. Monica’s work has focused on fashion, luxury, and lifestyle branding. Her experience has ranged from advertising, marketing, media packaging, store design, visual display, creative branding, and events.
Prior to founding playworkgroup, Monica was the account creative director for GAP worldwide from 2002-2006 at Laird and Partners. Prior to that Monica’s principal experience was at the creative firm, Arnell Group. She has also worked on consulting projects at Lloyd and Company, Interbrand, McKinsey and Company. Monica has been responsible for a prestigious roster of clientele including: Tiffany, Donna Karan Collection, Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, Sephora, Vitamin Water, Swiss Army Brands, Rockport, Cuervo, McKinsey Consulting, Nike, Limited Brand Enterprises, and Talbots. Her projects have been featured in Esquire Japan’s Top ads of 2006 as well as Adweek and Advertising Age.
John is a founder of playworkgroup. He is a journeymen who has had vast years of experience in multiple roles at many prestigious creative agencies and brands. He takes a very unique approach with an immediate understanding of design. John’s work has focused on fashion, luxury, and lifestyle branding.
Prior to founding playworkgroup, John served roles of art and creative director at: Kirshenbaum and Partners, Lloyd and Company and in the New York office of Base. His first job was at DKNY. Vogue Magazine called John a “branding wizard” in their September, 2010 issue.
At Kirshenbaum and Partners, John helped design the iconic Target Fashion campaign. It was the first campaign of its kind to bring the word fashion together with consumer product company. He also worked on Rockport, MOET, and Netscape. In 2005, John worked with Lloyd and Company on Estee Lauder and several award winning issues of BIG Magazine. In 2007, he was chosen to be lead creative in the New York office of the agency, BASE. While at BASE, he led the brand launch of Kiki de Montparnasse. He collaborated with Marilyn Minter for Karen Karch and re-branded Majorca based Excellence Hotel Group. John has also consulted for Limited Brands, Wexler Skincare, Fredrick Fekkai and Miraval Spa.
